Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Gregory Carro found that the bag was not firmly in Mangione\u2019s possession when officers searched it, requiring suppression of the magazine, cellphone, passport, wallet and computer chip recovered inside. One item\u2014the journal later logged at police headquarters\u2014remains admissible.
