Veteran voice actor Tom Kane, best known for his work on The Powerpuff Girls<\/em> and Star Wars: The Clone Wars<\/em>, has died at age 64. <\/p>

His death was confirmed on Monday by one of his representatives, who first told TMZ. Further details were not immediately disclosed.<\/p>

Kane built a career spanning more than four decades and became one of the most recognizable voices in animation, television narration and video games. Known for his range and ability to emulate other performers, he earned a reputation as a dependable voice across major franchises.<\/p>

Kane was widely associated with Cartoon Network\u2019s hit Emmy-winning series, The Powerpuff Girls<\/em>, where he voiced Professor Utonium, the girls\u2019 creator and father, as well as the villain HIM. His work on the series gave him a central role in one of the most influential animated shows of the late 1990s and early 2000s.<\/p>

Kane also became closely tied to the Star Wars<\/em> universe, where he voiced Jedi Master Yoda in multiple animated projects, including The Clone Wars<\/em>. He additionally served as the narrator of the series and voiced a range of supporting characters, helping define the tone of the popular animated franchise set within one of the most successful Hollywood media empires.<\/p>

Beyond The Powerpuff<\/em> Girls and Star Wars<\/em>, Kane had a number of credits across the animation landscape. He voiced Darwin in The Wild Thornberrys<\/em>, Mr. Herriman in Foster\u2019s Home for Imaginary Friends<\/em>, and Lord Monkey Fist in Kim Possible<\/em>. He also took on roles such as Magneto in Wolverine and the X-Men<\/em> and Ultron in The Avengers: Earth\u2019s Mightiest Heroes<\/em>, showing the flexibility to move between comedic, heroic and villainous characters.<\/p>

He also contributed to film projects, theme park attractions and major broadcast events, including serving as an announcer for multiple Academy Awards ceremonies.<\/p>

Who Was Tom Kane?<\/h2>

Born April 15, 1962, Kane began working in voice-over as a teenager and steadily rose to prominence through hundreds of commercial, promotional and entertainment roles. He retired from voice acting after suffering a stroke in 2020.<\/p>

Kane is survived by his wife and nine children. <\/p>

Journalist Scott Gustin, who covers the Disney, Marvel and theme parks, posted on X,<\/strong> “A voiceover legend. Kane also recorded the voice narration for Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom while he was in Orlando for Star Wars Celebration back in 2017. During the session, he recorded versions in both American and British accents. RIP Tom Kane.”<\/p>

Kane’s representative, Zach McGinnis<\/strong>, told TMZ .<\/strong>.. “Though his voice may now be silent, the characters, stories, and love he gave to the world will live on forever. But beyond the incredible career was an extraordinary man. Tom was a devoted husband and father who, alongside his wife, built a loving family of nine children \u2014 three biological and six welcomed through adoption and fostering.”<\/p>
